Ruffles, ruffles everywhere!
The design of this Ruffle Cake was inspired by a piping technique that I saw online. To finish the cake you pip a ruffle border of sorts around the sides of the cake. I was given creative freedom for this cake, so I decided now was the time to try it out!
I made a Vanilla Cake and dyed it pink and teal on the inside. Then I frosted the cake with Vanilla Buttercream. After crumb coating the cake on the top and sides, I piped on the ruffle border. I had to go one by one for each stripe, so one white, then pink, then white, then teal, etc. It was a little tedious, but worth it in the end.
I then finished the top off with some piped flowers with colorful centers. In the center of the cake is the birthday message and age. I would say it turned out pretty….well, pretty!
This order also had Cupcakes. Half were Strawberry and the other half were Vanilla Cake. They were both frosted with Vanilla Buttercream and topped with a few star flowers in pink and teal. Pretty and yummy all in the same package!
