Fruit and custard in a cake!?! Why yes indeed! Here is the latest cake that I made. It was a Strawberry Fruit Custard Cake.
The inside of the cake was comprised of layers of Vanilla Yellow Cake then Vanilla Custard, and then Strawberry Filling. It was 4 layers of cake and 3 layers of filling. Once it was cut into, it sure was a sight to see!
On the outside of the cake I frosted it with a batch of simple Whipped Cream. The same went on the top of the cake. To take it to the next level I then positioned Pirouette Wafer Cookies to the side of the cake. I like that they were not all the same size – it made the cake look more rustic and natural. Then on the top I swirled some of the Strawberry Filling and topped it off with strawberry. Beautiful!
